Famous for its spectacular mountain peaks and the loyalty and friendliness of its inhabitants (the Sherpas), the Everest Trekking  is one of the most popular destinations for tourists in Nepal. While many of the routes through the mountains are arduous, there are ample places to rest and enjoy a meal along the way.While trekking is possible in this area the whole year round, the best times to visit are from the beginning of March to mid May and from the beginning of September to mid November. The winters are very cold and snow may make it difficult to travel higher than Tengboche, Other time the spectacular peaks often lost in the clouds. April and early May is a good time to see the hedgerows and trees bursting into bloom, with Rhododendrons, in particular, adding a spectacular splash of color to the landscape. However, dust from the plains of India during the spring routinely provide less than ideal conditions for clear mountain views. The views are much better after the summer monsoons have cleared the atmosphere of dust, but the days are shorter and cooler.

Treks Highlights: Fly in to Lukla and walk to the Sherpa village of Namche Bazaar, the monastery at Thyangbche and on to Everest base camp, panoramic view from Kalapatthar.

 

Itinerary Details:

Day 01: Kathmandu – Lukla – Phakding (2,800m)
Wake up in the morning and drive to domestic airport and take flight with Agni air to Lukla (2,800m). At the place of Lukla, trail leads north from the airstrip to the edge of Lukla Plateau. After, an easy walk through several villages reaches to Phakding (2,800m). There can be reached within 5 hours even relaxing.O/n at Tea House,

Day 02: Phakding – Namche Bazaar (2,800m – 3,440m)
At first, following up soft trail passing several villages, beautiful pine forest, then comes to Jorsalee (2800m). From Jorsalee following up Dudhkosi River about one hour and climbing slowly up a steep trail reaches to Namche. Nearly more than half steep trail, one can enjoy with breath Taking first view of Everest (8848m), Nuptse (7879m) and Lotse (8383m). Walking time takes about 6 hours.O/n at Tea House,

Day 03: Namche Bazaar – Rest (3,440m.)
At the place of Namche Bazaar, the trail leads steep climbing about one hour to Shyangboche. From the top of Shyangboche, one can see view of Mt. Everest (8848m), Ama Dablam (6856m), Themserku (6608m), Nuptse (7879m), and Lotse (8383m). After there trail downwards to Khumjung, where can be seen Sir Edmund Hillary School and hospital. Day 04: Namche – Thyangboche (3,790m - 3,870m)
From Namche, trail leads descending crossing several villages through a beautiful pine forest up to Phunki Thanga. After that, trail rapidly steep climbing to Thyangboche. Walking time takes about 6 hours.O/n Tea at House,

Day 05: Thyangboche – Pheriche (3,870m – 4,240m)
From Thyangboche, it's a short steep and muddy descending to Dingboche through birches, conifers and Rhododendron forest. After a long walk it passes several villages such as Dingboche, Pangboche and reaches Pheriche. Walking time takes about 6 hours.O/n Tea House,

Day 06: Pheriche – Lobuche (4,240m – 4,930m)
At the place of Pheriche trail leads very soft way up to Dugla (4,620m). After that it leads ascending about 2 hours, switches back to soft and enter Lobuje. Walking time takes about 6 hours.O/n Tea House,

Day 07: Lobuche – Gorak shep (4,930m - 5,160m)
From Lobuje trail leads flat, several small ascends and descends to Gorak shep. Walking time takes about 4 hours.O/n Tea House,

Day 08: Gorak Shep – Rest (Everest Base Camp)
The next day one can walk to Everest Base Camp. There can be seen Everest glacier and come back to Gorak shep. Walking time takes about 5 hours going and coming back.O/n Tea House,

Day 09: Gorak Shep – Rest (Kalapattar)
At the place of Gorak Shep, trail leads climbing up to Kalapattar (5,545m). Actually Kalapattar is the most popular place for checking breath taking mountain views’ such as Mt. Everest (8,848m), Ama Dablam (6,856m), Themserku (6,608m), Nuptse (7,879m), and Lotse (8,383m). Walking time takes about four hours for going and coming.O/n Tea House,

Day 10: Gorak shep – Pheriche (5160m – 4,240m)
From the Gorak shep, walking backs to Pheriche by the same way. Walking time takes about 6 hours.O/n Tea House,

Day 11: Pheriche – Thyangboche(4,240m – 3,870m)
Form Pheriche, moving through the same way reaches to Thyangboche. Walking time takes about 5 hours.O/n Tea House,

Day 12 Thyangboche – Namche Bazaar (3,870m – 3,440m)
Walking time takes about 5 hours back through the same way.O/n Tea Hosue,

Day 13: Namche Bazaar – Lukla (3,440m- 2,800m)
Walking time takes about 8 hours back through the same way.O/n Tea House,

Day 14: Lukla – Kathmandu
In the morning flight back to Kathmandu. O/n at Kathmandu,
